In preparation for COVID-era Halloween, Jimmy Fallon did a hilarious skit on The Tonight Show.  In the skit, Fallon played "the second bass player for the gothabilly band, The Bone Goblins."  At that point, a photo of the band was shown.  It just so happened that the photo was of Chip's previous band and Fallon's face was photoshopped over one of the member's faces!  You can watch the clip to see for yourself!

The Ballroom Blitz Radio Show, broadcast on 105.7FM in Ipswitch, UK, named Chip & The Charge Ups their "Band of the Day" on April 13, 2020.  In a review of the band on its facebook page, Ballroom Blitz referred to the songs on Lightning in Our Veins as "infectious power-pop and pop-punk tunes."  The post also said that the new album "is well worth investigating by fans of Green Day, Ramones and Weezer (to name but three)" and declared that the Charge Ups "have a promising future ahead."

Western Pennsylvania's 97.7FM The Rock Station gave Chip & The Charge Ups' new holiday song, "Black and Gold Christmas," its radio debut.  To commemorate the occasion, Chip stopped in the station's studios for an interview and brought Beth Burrell from the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank.  Chip & The Charge Ups have partnered with the Food Bank and will be donating 100% of the profits from the sale of "Black and Gold Christmas" t-shirts to the Food Bank.  In the abstract for the archived episode, 97.7 wrote that "Black and Gold Christmas" is a "song for Yinzer’s across the country to take hold of and show their pride."

WDVE & Pittsburgh Penguins' Phil Bourque Rave About "The Ol' Two-Niner"

WDVE FM in Pittsburgh plays Chip & The Charge Ups' "The Ol' Two-Niner" every Wednesday morning during hockey season when it introduces legendary Pittsburgh Penguins player and current announcer, Phil Bourque.  The station even played the song during a rare off-season, July appearance by Bourque.  During the segment, legendary DJ Val Porter called the song "a good headbanging song" and Bourque said it makes him "wanna reach down, turn up the volume...it gets ya fired up!"
